Young women carry the weight of a complex world on their shoulders. They must learn to balance family with education, social life, and most importantly, self. Virginia Woolf described the Angel in the House as "so constituted that she never had a mind or a wish of her own, but preferred to sympathize always with the minds and wishes of others." Young women must find their inner strength first before all else, a necessary rebellion, before touching others. It is a task these three teen writers accomplish admirably, their words touch the heart and lift the spirit.
