crows

Flock of Birds Flying in the Sky

Flock of Birds Flying in the Sky

opera chorus all in black
black masks, long plumes
draping shoulders
soprano singing dido’s lament
a large flock of crows caws above us
moving into the sunset
in perfect choreographed flight
which no human or humans
could design or sound
and even though the soprano’s voice
is beautiful and moving
and makes me weep
i prefer to listen to the crows

Note: “Dido’s Lament” is the popular name for the famous aria “When I am laid in earth” from the opera Dido and Aenas by Henry Purcell.

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your site. I too am an aspiring writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for newbie writers? I’d really appreciate it.

@admin: I must say your blog is the first I’ve come across this morning that doesn’t have typos every other sentence. Thank you for taking the time to write something that doesn’t look like a 5th grader wrote. I apologize, just had to vent.
